Steve ("we", "our", or "us") is a Slack bot that posts daily questions to help teams bond through humor. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our service.

When you install Steve in your Slack workspace, we collect and store:

• Slack workspace ID and name
• Bot access token (to post messages)
• Channel ID where Steve is invited
• User display names (from Slack profiles)
• Message responses posted in threads
• Reaction votes (thumbs up emoji)
• Leaderboard points and rankings

How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information solely to provide Steve's core functionality:

• Post daily questions to your designated channel
• Collect and display team responses in threads
• Track votes via reactions
• Calculate and display leaderboard rankings
• Send timezone-aware welcome messages

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely:

• Hosted on Supabase (secure PostgreSQL database)
• Encrypted in transit and at rest
• Access restricted to authorized personnel only
• Row Level Security (RLS) policies enforced
• Data isolated per workspace (no cross-workspace access)

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your data with third parties. Your workspace data remains private and isolated. The only data sharing that occurs is within your own Slack workspace (questions, responses, and leaderboards visible to your team members).

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as Steve is installed in your workspace. If you uninstall Steve, your data will be retained for 30 days to allow for reinstallation, after which it will be permanently deleted.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your workspace data
• Request data deletion
• Uninstall Steve at any time
• Export your data (contact us)

Cookies and Tracking

Our website (blamesteve.lol) uses minimal analytics to understand traffic. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising purposes.

Third-Party Services

Steve integrates with:

• Slack - for messaging and events (governed by Slack's privacy policy)
• Supabase - for data storage (governed by Supabase's privacy policy)
• Google Vertex AI - for AI question generation (no personal data shared)

Children's Privacy

Steve is intended for workplace use and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes via Slack message or email. Continued use of Steve after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
